June 28th
Our second annual fishing derby will be held on June 28th at Scout Park (behind park district building on
Ottawa) from 1-5. There will be a short fishing demonstration, casting contest, and fishing. You will need to
bring your own pole and bait.
We are also asking that everyone bring a side dish to share, as we plan on having a picnic. You will need to bring
your own cooler with nonalcoholic drinks. Please RSVP to me by June 26th so that we know how much meat we
need to have for the picnic. Anyone over 16 will need a fishing license if they plan on fishing

Fossil Hunt, Morris, IL: Aug 15th. Either an
8a-11-a session or 1p-4p session. Fees are $5.00
for the scout + $1.00 for the adult attending.

July 11-12 Silversides Overnight
For all of you who are attending the Silversides outing on July 11th (this is only the people who paid in full by the
due date). If you missed the deadline and still wish to go, you may contact them at 231-755-1230 to see if there
is still room available and make payment directly to them.

We will be leaving at 1 p.m. on Saturday July 11th from Meadow View School 2501 Mirage Avenue (front lot by
front doors). We should arrive by 5 p.m. We will have a guided tour at 6 p.m. and then at 9 p.m. we will unload our
gear. We will be having a pizza dinner at the sub and then we will also have a snack later in the evening. We will
also have a schedule for everyone to have a watch shift aboard the ship. We are required to have one adult awake
at all times. At 8 a.m. on Sunday morning we will have breakfast and off-load our gear. At 9 a.m. is cleaning of the
vessel, and 9:30 is check out. This should put us back in town by 1:30.

What to bring?
Sleeping bag and pillow.
Appropriate clothing for the season (including sleepwear). Keep in mind, lakefront temperatures can be cooler
even in summer, so a light jacket or sweatshirt is suggested.
Personal toiletries.

There are no shower facilities available, but there is a bathroom in the gift shop
